How to use a watch as a compass

It's true, even a simple thing like a watch can save your life. But only if you know how to use it. The right way.
You will need an analog watch.

1: Make the hands of the watch parallel to the ground.

2: Point the hour hand at the sun.

3: Halfway between 12 and the hour hand is south if you're in the northern hemisphere, north if you're in the southern hemisphere.

DST (Daylight Saving Time) Use 1 instead of 12 for Step 3.

The closer you are to the Equator, the less accurate this is. (Eskimos are SO lucky...)
